Sharing learnings and experiences at the ISPCAN congress

August 18th, 2024

From 18 to 21 August, in Uppsala, Sweden, the ISPCAN - Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Congress will be held. TdH NL will be represented by five colleagues: Caroline Parmet, Zoe de Melo, Dr. Jean Elphick, Dr. Zosa Gruber and Dr. Kimberley Anderson. They will be sharing results of our projects on online safety, climate change and developing child-friendly versions of results; highlighting the voices of children, their creativity and the lessons we’ve learned from working with them.

Dr. Jean Elphick, Head of Research, Expertise & Influencing, will be hosting the workshop: Workshop 'Principles for designing child-friendly versions of research to support child participation and research uptake' at the ISPCAN conference.

The Congress theme Working Together in Times of Crisis will emphasise the difficult realities and new challenges that children face, and the innovative solutions our global community is employing in research and practice. The increasing violence, armed conflicts, the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change along with stress and cultural practices all threaten mental health and wellbeing. Child protection professionals and front-line workers are challenged more than ever to work with fewer resources to support children and families to become resilient beneficiaries of systems of protection. Crises and challenges, when shared in a community of learning, present good opportunities for growth.
