Consider 12-year-old Kaliyan, who suffered abuse for a year. Her abuser was an older man, who coerced her with money, a bicycle and promises to build a house for her family. We made sure her perpetrator was arrested and prosecuted. Now Kaliyan gets counselling to deal with those past experiences. With a social worker’s help, she is slowly rebuilding her life.
