The way we lead, learn with and leverage the strengths of our alliances allows us to have a strong impact against governments and international agencies . Our network engagement increases the expertise we can use to achieve strong lobby results and improve children’s lives.
Two million children worldwide are victims of commercial sexual exploitation. In an alliance called "Down to Zero", Terre des Hommes (lead), Plan International Netherlands, Defense for Children - ECPAT, Free a Girl and ICCO Cooperation are working together to eradicate commercial sexual exploitation in ten countries in Asia and Latin America.
In the She Leads is a consortium, Terre des Hommes works together with the organizations Plan and Defense for Children - ECPAT to eradicate violence against girls and young women and to strengthen their economic opportunities in society.
She leads aims to brings together child rights organisations, feminist/women’s rights organisations, and Girls and Young Women-led groups in Africa and the Middle East in a joint effort to increase sustained influence of girls and young women on decision-making and the transformation of gender norms in formal and informal institutions.
An exceptional disaster affects us all. When that happens, the 11 cooperating aid organizations join forces under the name Giro555. Giro555 works together with Dutch broadcasters, stations and other media, and asks all of the Netherlands to join. Together we take action for emergency aid.
The Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA) is a coalition of 14 Dutch aid organisations in partnership with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The structure of the DRA enables Terre des Hommes to respond to major international crises in a timely and effective manner.
The current DRA members are: CARE Nederland, Cordaid, Dorcas, Oxfam Novib, Plan International Nederland, Help a Child, Save the Children, SOS Children’s Villages The Netherlands, Stichting Vluchteling, Tearfund NL, Terre des Hommes, War Child, World Vision and ZOA.
In 2017, the six largest child-focused agencies: ChildFund Alliance, Plan International, Save the Children International, SOS Children’s Villages International, Terre des Hommes International Federation, and World Vision International joined forces. We aim to use our collective power to accelerate change to secure children their rights and end violence against them.
Based on international humanitarian principles and as set out in the European Consensus on Humanitarian Aid, the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) provides needs-based humanitarian assistance to the people hit by man-made and natural disasters with particular attention to the most vulnerable victims.
